Congratulations to the FCHS Auxiliary as it
Celebrates 50 Years of Service
The FCHS Auxliary has raised another
$10,000 that was presented recently to the Foundation. This money
will be used to help meet the expenses of the new Ultrasound equipment
for Four Counties Health Services. These monies come from our gently used
bookstore, our Gift shop full of great ideas for gifts and treats, Nevada
ticket sales, raffles and our Spring and Fall bazaars. Our Spring
raffle featured a stainless steel propane BBQ and this Fall raffle items
include a beautiful handmade queen sized quilt, a real mink teddy bear
and a framed picture, all donated by members or our community and hospital.
Book Store
The FCHS Auxiliary is happy to announce
that since the Book Store opened its doors in March 2010 they have raised
over $10,000. This has exceeded all or our expectations and is absolutely
amazing. Thanks to the community for providing us with your gently
read books, “without you we couldn’t have done it.” |

Lifecall
The Auxiliary Gift shop continues
to be an authorized dealer and installer of the Personal Emergency Response
Service “Lifecall.”
Lifecall is “Help at the press of a
button.” It is a wireless personal help system that is worn at all
times around the house, it provides individuals with 24/7 assistance.
This is a real comfort and peace of mind for families of elderly family
who are still independent and living on their own; they can have the reassurance
knowing that at the press of a simple button they and emergency response
units can be notified in an emergency/security situation (break in or intruder).
Lifecall has a 2-way voice communication base unit that acts as a speaker
phone in case the person cannot get to the phone due to an injury etc.
Lifecall also has a built in handy medication reminder. Installation
is free to our community members.
For more information please call
519-693-7111 ext 2414 for more information or drop by the gift shop to
see a demonstration model. |
In 1963, under the leadership of
Mrs. Edith Lockwood, a group of local ladies formed the Auxiliary to Four
Counties Health Services. In the intervening years these dedicated
ladies have organized fund raisers and raffles, held book sales and bake
sales and bazaars and have contributed (as of Dec/09) $227,925 to support
projects undertaken by the FCHS Foundation.
They have operated a gift shop in
a number of different locations. In the fall of 2008, they moved
to their current location in the front lobby. They have expanded
their giftware to include homemade preserves and crafts. There is
a selection of uniforms for the staff to purchase.
They have added a coffee kiosk and
have Nevada tickets available for sale in the lobby.
New members are always welcome -
both men and women.

Auxiliary, please contact Judy Peters at 519-693-4441 ext 2467 or Jackie
